How lovely! Thank you for sharing this - I never watch these shows, so I would've never known about it otherwise. I felt so bad when everyone was looking at him at first like 'Uh, yeah....' - but then at the end I felt horrible for the girl's talent being dismissed. I'm happy he said they would stay a duo no matter what.
I never watch these shows, either, but I can't say I was surprised to see how well he sang. It was truly sad how dismissive they all were. But, I think, for me it was about this amazing friendship.
Did you ever see the documentary Anvil? It reminded me of that story. You could certainly argue that such loyalty is both wondrous and destructive, esp for Anvil, but for sure it is painfully rare.
